The awe of God is not temporal like our time on earth,
but rather eternal like our future in Christ.
"In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things were made through Him,
and without Him nothing was made that was made.
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
And the light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness did not comprehend it.
- John 1:1-5 NKJV
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth.
The earth was without form, and void;
and darkness was on the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
Then God said 'Let there be Light'; and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good;
and God divided the light from the darkness.
God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night.
So the evening and morning were the first day."
- Genesis 1:1-5 NKJV
To even begin to understand the vast awe and mysteries of God,
we need His spirit to reveal, teach and lead us into His truth.
"And my message and my preaching were very plain.
Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy spirit.
I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.
Yet when I am among mature believers, I do speak with words of wisdom,
but not the kind of wisdom that belongs to this world or to the rulers of this world,
who are soon forgotten.
No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God - His plan that was previously hidden,
even though He made it for our ultimate glory before the world began.
But the rulers of this world have not understood it;
if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord.
That is what the scriptures mean when they say.
'No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.'
But it was to us that God revealed these things by His Spirit.
For His Spirit searches out everything and shows us God's deep secrets.
No one can know a person's thoughts except that person's own spirit,
and no one can know God's thoughts except God's own Spirit (not the world's spirit),
so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us."
- 1 Corinthians 2:4-12 NLT
"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and are on the earth,
visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions, or principalities or powers.
All things were created through Him and for Him.
And He is before all things and in Him all things consist."
- Colossians 1:15-17 NKJV
"He made heaven and the earth, the sea and everything in them.
He keeps every promise forever."
- Psalm 146:6 NLT
"Lord through all the generations you have been our home!
Before the mountains were born,
before you gave birth to the earth and the world,
from the beginning to the end you are God."
- Psalm 90:1-2 NLT
"Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth,
for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.
Also there was no more sea.
Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem,
coming down out of heaven from God,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
I heard a loud voice from heaven saying,
'Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men,
and He will dwell with them,
and they shall be His people.
God Himself will be with them and be their God.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes;
there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying.
There shall be no more pain,
for the former things have passed away.' "
- Revelation 21:1-5 NKJV
